Ode to Litchi..my life lantern

 Ode to Litchi

Beginnings in Casablanca

Born in Casablanca, small and bright,

A tiny soul, a spark of light.

At two months old, you came to me,

A life entwined, a destiny.

I was your mother, friend, your guide,

Together learning, side by side.

We played and laughed, discovered new,

A bond of love forever true.

The Choosy Kitty

Exigent, picky, your standards high,

No food would pass without your eye.

Yet cuddled close, you’d nuzzle near,

Your trust was earned, your love sincere.

You cherished warmth, my soft embrace,

A quiet joy found in your grace.

Cosy beds and couches deep,

Were places where your soul could sleep.

A Beauty to Behold

Red-point Siamese with coat so white,

Short-haired elegance, a pure delight.

Your face, your eyes, wide, blue, and clear,

Could charm the heart of all who’d near.

Even those who did not love a cat

Would stop, enchanted, and marvel at

Your gentle charm, your subtle grace,

The beauty shining in your face.

Litchi before loosing so much weight

A Playful Spirit

When young, we’d chase a tiny ball,

A soccer game within the hall.

Your leaps and dashes, swift and bright,

A joyful dance of pure delight.

Through every toss, through every roll,

You carried laughter in your soul.

Those moments small, yet full of cheer,

Forever etched, forever dear.

Hold me tight against your chest

Tender Night Rituals

Each night, before you drifted to sleep,

I’d massage your head, your cheeks so deep.

Your neck, your face, in gentle hands,

Sung softly by me through quiet lands.

A lullaby of love and care,

A whispered song, a sacred prayer.

With every touch, your eyes would close,

And in that calm, our love would grow.

A lifetime companion

Love of Life and Nature

You loved the green, the grass, the flowers,

Long walks in sunlit, gentle hours.

Among the plants, you’d softly tread,

Curious eyes and little head.

A Sociable Spirit

Yet sociable, you loved the crowd,

Family gatherings, voices loud.

Visitors came, and you would greet,

Bonding gently, soft and sweet.

But still, my bond was your delight,

You kept me closest, day and night.

And with my father, special and true,

A friendship rare, that heaven knew.

 Favorite Spaces

My room, my bed, your cherished place,

Sometimes the floor, waiting for grace.

Attention earned with patient eyes,

A little king in human ties.

A Loyal Companion

Fourteen years you walked with me,

Through joys, through tears, through memory.

In bed you’d lie upon my chest,

A gentle weight, a soul at rest.

Feeling my scent, you’d softly purr,

A quiet hymn, a loving stir.

No meal until my home you knew,

Beside me always, faithful and true.

Strength and Courage

Through illness, struggle, battles fought,

You showed the strength that life had taught.

Your teeth remained, your body frail,

Yet clever mind and heart prevailed.

You were my shadow, guide, and friend,

A love so vast, it had no end.

Every morning, every call,

I’d feel your presence through it all.

The Farewell

Fourteen years, our journey done,

Beneath the olive tree, you rest, my sun.

Though we lost the battle, love survives,

Forever part of all our lives.

I feel you near, I hear your voice,

Through daily life, I still rejoice.

In every corner, every sight,

You live within me, day and night.

A wink to kiss you back

Eternal Memory

Through sunlit fields and skies above,

Forever shines your endless love.

No time or death can break this thread,

The life we shared, the bond we led.

Hand in paw .. together forever

Beneath the Olive Tree

Beneath its shade, your body sleeps,

But in my heart, your spirit keeps.

A life well-lived, a soul so dear,

My Litchi, love, forever near.

Your choices, quirks, your gentle ways,

The warmth you gave through all your days,

The playful leaps, the nightly song,

The love for green, the bonds so strong,

The special bond with him above,

Remain with me, a gift of love.

We are two identical peas

Two peas bound by unconditional love

Hand in paw peeping at the stars above

The smaller twinkling star is you so please

Purr again as the blossom in the breeze

Let you cross that bridge with the angels

Body away yet spirit flickers

On my shoulders like white doves or owls

Physically apart but forever together

Our unconditional love makes us stronger

Throughout life and death and heaven

Our infinite trip is beyond physical living

Took your hand till you crossed

In my life though you stayed

You are everything to me

And forever you will be

RIP Litchi
